Detailed day-by-day itinerary
Start times remain flexible until travel dates and hotel locations are confirmed. We deliberately state long days and local-vehicle handovers instead of hiding them in the fine print.
Day 1: Arrive and route briefing
Meet the operations team, confirm current approach road and prepare cash, medicines and luggage.
Day 2: Approach to Suru
Begin the staged journey through Kargil/Suru.
Day 3: Suru to Rangdum
Travel deeper into the valley, with monastery and landscape stops.
Day 4: Rangdum to Padum
Cross the high approach and reach Padum.
Day 5: Karsha and Padum heritage
Visit major monastic and village sites with a local guide option.
Day 6: Western Zanskar villages
Choose Sani, Zangla or another accessible cluster rather than chasing distance.
Day 7: Buffer / second exploration
Use for weather, road delays or a deeper cultural day.
Day 8: Exit toward Leh or Kargil
Take the safest currently open alignment; staged night may be required.
Day 9: Reach hub and conclude
Arrive in Leh/Kargil with a recovery night recommended.

Can the Zanskar Valley Expedition · 9 Days itinerary be customised?
Yes. Nights, route, hotel category, meal plan and pickup point can be changed. We confirm whether a requested change is sensible for the season and driving time before quoting.
Are flights and activity tickets included?
Flights are not included. Gondola, pony, skiing, monument and other activity tickets are included only when the final written quote names them.
What happens if a road or pass closes?
Mountain routes can change with weather, maintenance or security orders. We first adjust the sequence or use a safe alternative; any material cost change is discussed before it is incurred.
Is this a fixed-departure group tour?
No. The standard version is a private trip for your party with a dedicated vehicle. Group departures are offered only when clearly stated.
How is the final price calculated?
The final price reflects travel dates, hotel category, number and age of travelers, vehicle type, meal plan, permits and separately regulated local services.
