Gurez Valley is one of the least explored regions of Kashmir. Cut off from the world for six months of the year, it retains a primitive charm that is hard to find elsewhere. This 5-day tour takes you over the Razdan Pass (11,672 ft) into the heart of the Shina-speaking Dard community.
From the Kishanganga river's turquoise waters to the wooden log-hut villages of Tulail, this is a journey for explorers, photographers, and those seeking absolute peace away from the crowds of Gulmarg or Pahalgam.
The Explorer's Journal
Arrival in Srinagar
Touch down in Srinagar. Transfer to your hotel/houseboat. Spend the afternoon visiting the local Mughal Gardens and enjoying a Shikara ride to prepare for the long mountain journey tomorrow.

Crossing the Razdan Pass
Early morning drive to Gurez (6-7 hrs). We cross the high Razdan Pass, offering views of the Harmukh Peak. Visit Peer Baba shrine at the top. Reach Dawar (Gurez) by evening and check into your guesthouse.

Habba Khatoon & Local Dawar
Wake up to the view of the pyramid-shaped Habba Khatoon Peak. Spend the day exploring Dawar village, the Kishanganga river banks, and the Habba Khatoon spring. Immerse yourself in the Dard-Shin culture.

Tulail Valley & Srinagar Return
Drive deep into the Tulail Valley (Sheikhpora/Badogam) to see the traditional wooden architecture. Later in the afternoon, begin the scenic journey back across Razdan Pass to reach Srinagar by late night.

After a final Kashmiri breakfast, we drop you at the Srinagar Airport for your return flight. Your off-beat journey ends here.
